Nursing Clinical II is the second clinical course, which allows students to build on therapeutic communication skills, as well as fundamental skills of assessment and documentation. This course will consist of 144 hours, including the introduction of Adult Medical Surgical Nursing. Specialty rotations may also be assigned during this and subsequent courses as available, the associated assignments and grading rubric are presented in this course and are to be referred to in subsequent courses. Skills to be addressed at this phase include: assessment, documentation, administration of medications, venous access, and wound care. Application of theory in the clinical setting will be demonstrated through the development of critical thinking skills
