Course Length: 1 Year
A study of the physical, biological, and chemical makeup of food, the causes of deterioration in food products, the principles underlying food processing, and the
improvement of foods for the consuming public. Students will conduct laboratory and field investigations, use scientific methods during investigations, and make informed decisions using critical thinking and scientific problem solving regarding consumable foods. Student leadership through Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is an integral part of this course. -
